Throughout the didactic phase you will learn the foundations of medicine through intensive classroom coursework. The clinical phase includes hands-on experience in a variety of clinical settings. You will complete your degree with the month-long summative phase which prepares you for the transition into clinical practice.
A career as a physician assistant (PA) involves working alongside physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide patient care.
PAs perform a wide range of medical duties, including conducting physical examinations, diagnosing illnesses, prescribing medications, and assisting in surgeries.
They work in various healthcare settings, such as hospitals, clinics, and private practices, collaborating closely with physicians to deliver comprehensive healthcare services.

The Didactic Phase represents the preclinical year and spans 12 months.
The Clinical Phase represents the clinical year and consists of 11 months of supervised clinical education and coursework.
The Summative Phase is 1 month in duration and represents the final stage of training.
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be awarded a Master of Medical Science (MMS) degree and be eligible to sit for the PA National Certifying Exam (PANCE).
This entry-level master’s degree program consists of 108 semester hours of graduate work divided into three phases that span 24 consecutive months. The Didactic Phase represents the preclinical year and spans 12 months. The Clinical Phase represents the clinical year and consists of 11 months of supervised clinical education and coursework.
